Chinese Language Note
The word yuan (Chinese currency) is usually not spoken. The colloquial version kuai (Chinese: 块; pinyin: kuài) is used more often in conversation.
App of the Week
Memrise — This app (available for both iOS and Android) is a great app to learn languages generally. You can increase your Chinese vocabulary with the app by using spaced repetition of flashcards.
Book of the Week
This week I’m listening to The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz on Scribd.
One of the takeaways I got from the book is to keep working on your creativity by:
Always being open to new ideas.
To consistently be learning something new.
To ask yourself daily, “How can I do a better job today?”
Article of the Week
I’ve spent a bit of time reading about homeschooling with an interesting thread here and new take on remote education by Primer.
If you have any comments or questions, please email me on support @ learnmandarin.com.au. I’d love to hear from you.
Stay safe and healthy until next time!
