二十块钱。 Èrshí kuài qián。Twenty Yuan. 💰
这不太便宜。十块钱怎么样?Zhè bù tài piányí. Shí kuài qián zěnme yàng? That’s not very cheap. How about 10 Yuan? 💸
不可能。十六块钱怎么样?Bù kěnéng. Shíliù kuài qián zěnme yàng? Impossible. How about 16 Yuan? 🙏
我没有十六块钱。我给你十三块钱可以吗?Wǒ méiyǒu shíliù kuài qián. Wǒ gěi nǐ shísān kuài qián kěyǐ ma? I don’t have 16 Yuan. Is it okay if I give you 13 Yuan? 🤷

Historical Note
I watched an interview on YouTube a few days ago with Stephen Schwarzman where he talks about the current Chinese leadership. 40 years ago when the current leadership were in their late teens or in college, China had a GDP per capita of $300. This experience of growing up in extreme poverty has fundamentally shaped their world views.
LearnMandarin.com.au News
I’m happy to announce that the Chinese for Love Series has been re-released here after lots of great feedback on the initial release 🥰
I’m working on adding a lot more fun Chinese language programs to this page.
This includes the short Chinese for Kids and the Chinese Grammar course.
On a separate note, I was asked to give a talk to college graduates recently and I’ve since published a summarized version of the speech on Amazon US | UK | AU.
The audiobook will be released in a few months on Audible and currently available for subscribers here.
